A Quiet Tuesday in Fall
Today is Tuesday, and honestly, I absolutely love Tuesdays. They have this wonderfully relaxed vibe, especially now in the fall when mornings can be a bit too chilly to leap out of bed. My daughter doesn’t have any activities today, so after work we get to have a bit of quality time together.
Today we decided to walk over to Home Depot, which is about a kilometre away, and it turned into this sweet little adventure. On the walk, we had an adorable chat. We ended up talking about how division is taught in school these days versus when I was in elementary school. My daughter was curious about whether kids were “smarter” before or now, since her teachers keep telling them they’re learning with easier methods that focus on understanding first. I told her I think it’s great that now they’re encouraged to understand concepts rather than just memorize steps, and that eventually she’ll have that “aha” moment when everything clicks.
And of course, on the way back, we talked about cookies because there’s a Subway in that Home Depot, and we treated ourselves to a box. We joked about how fun it is to wrap up a little hardware store errand and then reward ourselves with a treat.
Once we got home, we had dinner, enjoyed our cookies, and I even managed to do my workout in the evening since these chilly fall mornings make it hard to exercise early. I usually squeeze in a bit of treadmill time in the morning, but doing it in the evening felt great. Now I’m just relaxing, watching some YouTube videos about investing, and my daughter’s finishing up her homework.
I love these calm, cozy weeknights when everything’s already prepped from my Sunday meal planning and there’s nothing left to do but heat up dinner and unwind. Tuesdays are honestly the best.
Love, Fabi
